Dr. Rebecca Auer

Dr. Rebecca Auer holds key roles at the Ottawa Hospital, OHRI, and the University of Ottawa and is a Colorectal Surgical Oncologist and Research Scientist. She has pioneered studies on the effect of surgery on the immune system and translating laboratory discoveries into clinical trials. In May of 2022, Dr. Auer was personally affected by cholangiocarcinoma when her family member was diagnosed. Since receiving this news, she has been a vocal proponent and advocate for cholangiocarcinoma patients in Canada and in February 2023 she founded the C3 in partnership with patients, caregivers, oncologists and researchers.
